The Director of Technology reports directly to the Board Chairman.
He must develop and/or implement technology, designed to increase and retain membership in the association.
Planning TSTA's technology needs and strategy is an integral element of success. The technology director istypically responsible for developing, implementing and supporting both short- and long-term information technology plans. The director will create and administer IT policies and procedures, and audit information system use for compliance and security.
Works closely with upper management, director of technology will work to improve existing systems by reviewing users’ requests for changes, analyzing needs and making recommendations for updates, replacements or enhancements. The director of technology will also manage purchase and installation of new systems.
The director of technology may also be required to: consult with management, members and staff; and conduct feasibility studies for information technology projects.
